How to Hang a Roman Shade
Learn How to Hang Roman Shades Like A Pro
Are you looking for new window shades? Tired of your current window blinds? If you want something new, simple, and different decorating your windows, consider natural roman shades. They are easy to install with simple hardware. Watch here!
The most important thing the pros teach you before you attempt to hang a window shade is to make sure you have measured your window size correctly. The size of most roman shades are 1/2″ narrower in width than the size indicated on the box to allow for bracket hardware. The hardware used to hang the shade inside the window frame (inside mount) will take up approximately 1/4″ on each side, so a 36″ W x 72″ window shade is actually pre-cut to 35.5″ wide.
A screwdriver is all that’s needed to install your roman natural window shades/blinds. For an easier installation you can use a cordless screwdriver or a drill. All instructions and hardware are included with each window shade. It is easy as 1,2 3!
Step 1)- Mark Off Where to Mount the Hardware On the Window
Slide the “L” shade brackets onto the top of the window shade. Position the shade where you want it and mark with a pencil where the hardware should mount on the window.
Step 2) Mount the Hardware
Remove the hardware from the top of the window shade and mount it onto the window using a screwdriver or drill.
You can lightly tap starter holes with a hammer over the pencil dots first to help make screwing in the hardware go faster.
Step 3) Attach the Window Shade to the Hardware
Slide and push the left side of the headrail up onto the threaded posts of the bracket on the left, then lift up the valance and secure your shade using the provided wingnuts. Turn the wingnut clockwise until it is snug. Repeat on the right.
That’s all there is to it!
